StyleTread co-hosted the inaugural Greater Western Sydney Giants Ladies Luncheon, against the beautiful backdrop of Sydney Harbour at Doltone House in Pyrmont. This was the first opportunity for the women who support the GWS Giants to come together and celebrate the sport and the team.
Sunrise hosts Melissa Doyle and David Koch did a fantastic job MC-ing the event, which had lots of fun, laughter, great food and most importantly SHOES!
All the guests were wined and dined while they gained some insight into the life of the GWS boys, featuring homemade videos of them playing house. There was also an endearing Q&A session with wives, girlfriends and mothers of the players about what it’s like to have AFL in their lives. Playing AFL not only requires a lot of commitment from the boys, but also from their loved ones too!
So as a treat, we put on not one but two fashion shows!
The first featured our very own StyleTread team strutting their stuff down the runway, kindly escorted by GWS players who looked mighty dapper in their suits.
Each Treadster wore shoes and accessories from our Spring/Summer 2012 lookbook, and were styled with their own clothes to demonstrate that anyone could easily incorporate the latest trends into their wardrobe.
As you’ve probably seen everywhere – neon is huge right now! We put Kim from our buying team in fluoro yellow flats from Urge and went for a sporty luxe look with a pair of blue jeans and a sparkly racer-back top.
Inspired by Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2012 Ready-to-wear collection of pretty sherbet shades, broderie anglaise and ladylike headbands, we put Erika from Design and Content in a mint knit with a purple lace mini skirt, pairing the outfit with the Cheeky wedge from Lipstik.
Kochie was particularly impressed with Erika’s ability to walk in these sky-high wedges. Go Erika!
This is one of our favourite trends! Jessie from our Customer Happiness Team wore the aqua Alexa from Diavolina, a single-sole pointy-toe pump (try saying that three times). She recently dyed her locks a vibrant red so we couldn’t resist going all out with a bright colour blocked outfit for her. Jessie also wears the Cleopatra necklace from Lovisa, a turquoise beaded beauty which set off her aqua heels wonderfully!
I wore these little pretties and I can tell you, I felt like Linda Evangelista in “Too Funky” by George Michael. We teamed these with a great white tuxedo jacket, some black shorts and a silver statement necklace from Lovisa for a bit of edge. These lace ups are tremendously versatile and a great option to dress up any outfit.
The second fashion show featured the players wearing a range of outfits from evening wear, to festival wear to sleepwear. It was a major hit with the StyleTread ladies that’s for sure. Don’t worry – we got some photos! Behold…
At the end of the luncheon, all of the ladies were personally handed a rose from a GWS player. What a beautiful gesture!
